About the Course: A Cardiac First Responder is a person trained in the following areas: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (C.P.R.), using an SPRomated External Defibrillator (A.E.D.), the Safe Airway/Recovery Position, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (F.B.A.O.)/Choking, Cardiovascular Diseases (Heart Attack and Stroke), contacting the Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.), handing over to the Emergency Medical Services (E.M.S.) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D.).  Cardiac First Responders can use the skills they learn on this course to respond to adults, children and infants who have suddenly collapsed due to respiratory, cardiac or cardiovascular emergencies. Cardiac First Responders play a vital role in keeping a person alive until they can receive expert clinical care.

Certification: Successful participants will receive a "Cardiac First Responder (Community Level)" certificate and card issued by the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (P.H.E.C.C.) and Irish Water Safety (I.W.S.)

Participants will also receive a manual, pocket mask, face shield, red card and report form
